- Antibody format: Rabbit, Polyclonal, Rabbit IgG
- Molecular weight: 64 kDa
- Applications: WB, IHC, Flow Cytometry, ELISA
Vendor description (summary): Boster Bio Anti-CDC7 Antibody Picoband® catalog # A01190-3.
Biological background
Biological context: Antigen-presenting protein that binds self and non-self lipid and glycolipid antigens and presents them to T-cell receptors on natural killer T-cells.
Expression and localization notes: cellular localization: Cell membrane., tissue context: Expressed on cortical thymocytes, on certain T-cell leukemias, and in various other tissues..
Common research applications
- Western blotting (WB): Compare CDC7 levels across samples and conditions using appropriate loading and biological controls.
- Immunohistochemistry (IHC): Evaluate spatial distribution of CDC7 in tissue sections, considering fixation and antigen retrieval effects.
- Flow cytometry: Quantify CDC7-positive populations in single-cell suspensions with appropriate gating and controls.
- ELISA: Use antibody-based detection formats to assess antigen presence or binding in plate-based assays.
Notes for experimental interpretation
- Account for isoforms, post-translational modifications, and sample-specific processing that can shift apparent molecular weight or epitope accessibility.
- Use positive/negative biological controls where possible (e.g., known-expressing cells/tissues, knockdown/knockout models) and include appropriate secondary-only/isotype controls for imaging workflows.
Additional product notes (from provided fields)
- Background: Cell division cycle 7-related protein kinase is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the CDC7 gene. This gene encodes a cell division cycle protein with kinase activity that is critical for the G1/S transition. The yeast homolog is also essential for initiation of DNA replication as cell division occurs. Overexpression of this gene product may be associated with neoplastic transformation for some tumors. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants that encode the same protein have been detected.
- Cross reactivity: No cross-reactivity with other proteins.
- Cellular localization: Cell membrane.
- Tissue details: Expressed on cortical thymocytes, on certain T-cell leukemias, and in various other tissues.
- Research category: Adaptive Immunity,Immunoglobulins,Immunology,Receptors,T Cells
