Product Overview
Clone HOB-3 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes cyclin-dependent kinase 4 (gene CDK4) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, ICC/IF and immunoprecipitation. The predicted molecular weight is 33.7 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 34 kDa.
CDK4 is a serine/threonine kinase that partners with D-type cyclins to phosphorylate the retinoblastoma protein RB1 in G1 phase. This releases E2F transcription factors and commits the cell to enter S phase, which is why CDK4 and its inhibitors are central topics in cell cycle and cancer research.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human HeLa cells, human HepG2 cells, human MCF-7 cells, human K562 cells, rat brain tissue, rat pancreas tissue, mouse brain tissue, mouse pancreas tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 1:1000 overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:1000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): NIH/3T3 cells.
