Product Overview
Clone DAH-3 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes cyclin-dependent kinase 5 (gene CDK5) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, immunoprecipitation and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 33.3 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 33 kDa.
CDK5 is an atypical cyclin-dependent kinase that is activated not by cyclins but by p35 or p39, which are enriched in neurons. It regulates neuronal migration, axon growth and synaptic function, and abnormal CDK5 activity is studied in neurodegeneration, including tau phosphorylation in Alzheimer′s disease models.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human HeLa cells, human SH-SY5Y cells, human PC-3 cells, rat C6 cells, mouse brain tissue, mouse NIH/3T3 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 10% SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 1:500 overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human esophageal carcinoma tissue, rat stomach tissue, human stomach tissue, rat heart tissue, human prostate cancer tissue, human kidney tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human cdk5.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Ubiquitously expressed. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
