Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects calcium-responsive transcription factor (gene Carf) in mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, flow cytometry and ELISA.
In mouse, CaRF (calcium-responsive transcription factor) is a neuron-enriched transcription factor that binds the calcium-response element CaRE1 in the Bdnf promoter. It helps drive calcium- and activity-dependent BDNF transcription, and it is studied in neuronal activity-regulated gene expression.

Immunogen
Recombinant mouse CDKN2AIP/CARF fragment (Arg183–Thr689), expressed in E. coli. Sequence identity with the human and rat orthologs: 78.3% and 88.1%, respectively.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with mouse and rat. UniProt places calcium-responsive transcription factor in the nucleus. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (mouse): Highly expressed in brain and testis.
