- Molecular weight: 31 kDa
- Applications: WB, IHC, Flow Cytometry, ELISA
Vendor description (summary): Boster Bio Anti-CDR1 Antibody Picoband® catalog # A08472-1.
Biological background
Biological context: Protein kinase which phosphorylates ESR1 (in vitro) and protects it against proteasomal degradation. May also regulate ESR1 levels inly via a PKC-AKT-FOXO3 pathway where it decreases the activity of PKC and the phosphorylation of AKT, thereby increasing binding of transcriptional activator FOXO3 to the ESR1 promoter and increasing ESR1 transcription (PubMed:21602804). Involved in endocytic trafficking of N-methyl-D-aspartate receptors (NMDAR) in neurons.
Expression and localization notes: cellular localization: Golgi apparatus membrane. Membrane. Single-pass membrane protein. Axon. Dendrite..
Common research applications
- Western blotting (WB): Compare CDR1 levels across samples and conditions using appropriate loading and biological controls.
- Immunohistochemistry (IHC): Evaluate spatial distribution of CDR1 in tissue sections, considering fixation and antigen retrieval effects.
- Flow cytometry: Quantify CDR1-positive populations in single-cell suspensions with appropriate gating and controls.
- ELISA: Use antibody-based detection formats to assess antigen presence or binding in plate-based assays.
Notes for experimental interpretation
- Account for isoforms, post-translational modifications, and sample-specific processing that can shift apparent molecular weight or epitope accessibility.
- Use positive/negative biological controls where possible (e.g., known-expressing cells/tissues, knockdown/knockout models) and include appropriate secondary-only/isotype controls for imaging workflows.
Additional product notes (from provided fields)
- Background: Cerebellar degeneration-related protein 1 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the CDR1 gene. Autoantibodies ed against the protein encoded by this intronless gene have been found in some patients with paraneoplastic cerebellar degeneration. The encoded protein contains several hexapeptide repeats.
- Cross reactivity: No cross-reactivity with other proteins.
- Cellular localization: Golgi apparatus membrane. Membrane. Single-pass membrane protein. Axon. Dendrite.
- Research category: Cancer,Cell Biology,Cytoskeleton/ECM,ECM Enzymes,Extracellular Matrix,Invasion/Microenvironment,Metalloprotease,Proteolysis/Ubiquitin,Proteolytic Enzymes,Signal Transduction
