Product Overview
Clone AAOA-3 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes cell adhesion molecule CEACAM5 in human samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC and ICC/IF. The predicted molecular weight is 76.8 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 180–220 kDa.
CEACAM5, better known as carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA, CD66e), is a GPI-anchored glycoprotein of the immunoglobulin superfamily. It mediates cell adhesion with itself and related CEACAMs, and because it is often highly expressed in colorectal and other carcinomas, it is one of the most widely studied tumor-associated antigens.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human colon cancer.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human colon carcinoma tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human CEA (CD66e).
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places cell adhesion molecule CEACAM5 in the cell membrane, apical cell membrane and cell surface. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed in columnar epithelial and goblet cells of the colon (at protein level). The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
