Product Overview

Clone FIE-3 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes CCAAT/enhancer-binding protein alpha (gene CEBPA) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, immunoprecipitation and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 37.6 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 43 kDa.

C/EBPα (CEBPA) is a basic leucine zipper transcription factor that couples growth arrest with terminal differentiation. It drives the development of granulocytes, adipocytes and hepatocytes and regulates metabolic genes in the liver, and it is extensively studied in myeloid differentiation and acute myeloid leukemia.

Validated Applications

Western blot 1:500–1:1000
Immunoprecipitation 1:50
Flow cytometry 1:50

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): U937 cells.

Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.

Immunogen

Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human CEBP alpha.

Reactivity Notes

The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places CCAAT/enhancer-binding protein alpha in the nucleus and SUBCELLULAR LOCATION:. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.

Safety

Handling: the formulation contains sodium azide as a preservative. Wear gloves, avoid contact with skin and eyes, and dispose of waste according to local regulations. For research use only; not for diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
Q.Which applications is this antibody validated for, and at what dilution?
A.Validated applications with suggested starting dilutions: Western blot 1:500–1:1000; Flow cytometry 1:50; Immunoprecipitation 1:50. Optimal dilutions should be determined by each laboratory.
Q.Which species does this antibody react with?
A.Validated reactivity: Human, Mouse, Rat. Other species are not listed by the supplier.
Q.Has this antibody been tested on zebrafish samples?
A.Reactivity with zebrafish samples has not been tested by the supplier. Aligning the immunogen sequence with the zebrafish ortholog (e.g., by BLAST) helps estimate the chance of cross-reactivity.
Q.What band size should be expected in Western blot?
A.Reported by the supplier: calculated molecular weight 37.6 kDa; observed band at about 43 kDa. A difference from the calculated size is common and can reflect post-translational modification, processing or isoform differences.
Q.What immunogen was used to raise this antibody?
A.Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human CEBP alpha.
Q.How should this antibody be stored?
A.Long term: −20 °C for up to 12 months. Frequent use: 4 °C for up to 1 month. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles.
