Rabbit Monoclonal

Product Overview

Clone AAG-3 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes CCAAT/enhancer-binding protein beta (gene CEBPB) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, immunoprecipitation and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 36.1 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 33 kDa.

C/EBPβ (CEBPB) is a basic leucine zipper transcription factor that controls many immune and inflammatory genes, including those induced by IL-6 and IL-1. It also regulates adipogenesis, liver metabolism and regeneration, and its isoforms made from alternative start sites (LAP and LIP) have opposing activities.

Validated Applications

Western blot 1:500–1:2000
Immunoprecipitation 1:50
Flow cytometry 1:50

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): PC-12 cells, human spleen.

Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.

Immunogen

Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human CEBP Beta.

Reactivity Notes

The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places CCAAT/enhancer-binding protein beta in the nucleus and cytoplasm. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed at low levels in the lung, kidney and spleen. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.

Safety

Handling: the formulation contains sodium azide as a preservative. Wear gloves, avoid contact with skin and eyes, and dispose of waste according to local regulations. For research use only; not for diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
