Product Overview
Clone EIB-3 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes serine/threonine-protein kinase Chk1 (gene CHEK1) in human samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 54.4 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 54 kDa.
Chk1 (CHEK1) is a serine/threonine kinase that enforces DNA damage and replication checkpoints. Activated by ATR, it phosphorylates CDC25 phosphatases to block CDK activation and pause the cell cycle while DNA is repaired, making it central to genome maintenance and a target in cancer research.

Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places serine/threonine-protein kinase Chk1 in the nucleus, chromosome and cytoplasm. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed ubiquitously with the most abundant expression in thymus, testis, small intestine and colon.
