Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets histone-lysine N-methyltransferase SETDB2 in mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, flow cytometry and ELISA.
SETDB2 is a histone methyltransferase that trimethylates histone H3 at lysine 9, a mark that recruits HP1 proteins and represses transcription. It contributes to H3K9me3 at repetitive and centromeric DNA, supports chromosome condensation and segregation, and has a role in left–right axis patterning in early development.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): rat testis tissue, rat ovary tissue, rat C6 cells, mouse testis tissue, mouse Neuro-2a cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): RAW264.7 cells, RH35 cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant rat CLLD8/Setdb2 fragment (Lys20–Ile714), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with mouse and rat. UniProt places histone-lysine N-methyltransferase SETDB2 in the chromosome and nucleus. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
