Product Overview
Clone 28C38 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes ATP-dependent clpX-like chaperone, mitochondrial in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot and ICC/IF. The predicted molecular weight is 69.2 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 69 kDa.
CLPX is a mitochondrial AAA+ chaperone that works as an unfoldase. Within the ClpXP complex it recognizes substrate proteins, unfolds them using ATP and feeds them into the CLPP protease chamber; it also contributes to heme biosynthesis by activating ALAS, and is studied in mitochondrial proteostasis.

The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places ATP-dependent clpX-like chaperone, mitochondrial in the mitochondrion. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Higher expression in skeletal muscle and heart and to a lesser extent in liver, brain, placenta, lung, kidney and pancreas.
