Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects collagen alpha-1(VI) chain (gene COL6A1) in human samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 108.5 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 140 kDa.
Collagen α1(VI) chain (COL6A1) is a subunit of type VI collagen, which forms beaded microfilaments in the extracellular matrix of muscle, skin and other tissues. It binds cells and other matrix components, and COL6A1 mutations cause Bethlem myopathy and Ullrich congenital muscular dystrophy.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human hcct tissue, human hccp tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.25 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human colonic adenocarcinoma tissue, human esophageal squamous carcinoma tissue, human gastric adenocarcinoma tissue, human renal clear cells carcinoma tissue, human placenta tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
