Product Overview
Clone AOAH-3 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes collagen alpha-1(X) chain (gene COL10A1) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 66.2 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 66 kDa.
Type X collagen (COL10A1) is a short-chain collagen made by hypertrophic chondrocytes in the growth plate. It is localized to regions of cartilage that are about to mineralize during endochondral bone formation, so it is a standard marker of chondrocyte hypertrophy in skeletal development and osteoarthritis studies.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 1:500–1:2000 |
|---|
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): mouse liver tissue, rat liver tissue, human fetal skin.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 1:500 overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:500, ECL detection.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human collagen X.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
