Product Overview
Clone 20C06 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes catechol O-methyltransferase (gene COMT) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot and IHC. The predicted molecular weight is 30.0 kDa; the supplier reports observed bands at 24, 28 kDa.
Catechol O-methyltransferase (COMT) transfers a methyl group from S-adenosylmethionine to catechols, inactivating dopamine, norepinephrine, epinephrine and catechol estrogens. It also metabolizes drugs such as L-DOPA, and COMT is widely studied in neuropharmacology, prefrontal dopamine signaling and Parkinson disease therapy.
