Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects atypical kinase COQ8B, mitochondrial in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 60.1 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 65 kDa.
COQ8B (also known as ADCK4) is a mitochondrial atypical kinase-like protein required for coenzyme Q (ubiquinone) biosynthesis. Coenzyme Q carries electrons in the respiratory chain, and COQ8B mutations cause a form of steroid-resistant nephrotic syndrome, so it is studied in mitochondrial metabolism and kidney research.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human HeLa cells, human HepG2 cells, human A549 cells, human U2OS cells, rat stomach tissue, rat thymus tissue, mouse stomach tissue, mouse thymus tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.25 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human ovarian cancer tissue, human rectum adenocarcinoma tissue, human testicular seminoma tissue, mouse ovary tissue, rat ovary tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): HeLa cells.
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): human ovarian cancer tissue, human testis cancer tissue.
Immunogen
Recombinant human COQ8B fragment (Gln204–Ala527), expressed in E. coli. Sequence identity with the mouse and rat orthologs: 91.9% and 90.7%, respectively.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places atypical kinase COQ8B, mitochondrial in the mitochondrion membrane, cytoplasm and cell membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Widely expressed, including renal podocytes. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
