Overview

This antibody is intended for detection of CCP110 (RNA-binding protein Musashi homolog 1) in biological samples using common immunoassay formats. It is typically selected based on target identity, species reactivity, clonality/clone information, and detection modality.

Vendor notes: Boster Bio Anti-CP110/CCP110 Antibody Picoband® catalog # A05058-1. Tested in ELISA, IF, IHC, ICC, WB applications. This antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat. The brand Picoband indicates this is a premium antibody that guarantees superior quality, high affinity, and strong signals with minimal background in Western blot applications. Only our best-performing antibodies are designated as Picoband, ensuring unmatched performance.

Key elements and design rationale

  • Antibody format: Rabbit Polyclonal Rabbit IgG
  • Immunogen / epitope context: E. coli-derived human CP110 recombinant protein (Position: E51-H284). (reported region: E51-H284).
  • Molecular weight context: reported MW: 110 kDa; calculated MW: 39125 MW
  • Reactivity: Human,Mouse,Rat
  • Applications: ELISA, IF, IHC, ICC, WB

As a polyclonal antibody, the reagent recognizes multiple epitopes on the target, which can improve detection robustness but may increase sensitivity to sample-dependent epitope changes.

Biological background

RNA-binding protein Musashi homolog 1; centriolar coiled-coil protein 110. Centriolar coiled-coil protein of 110 kDa also known as centrosomal protein of 110 kDa or CP110 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the CCP110 gene. This gene is mapped to chromosome 16p12.3. It is a cell cycle-dependent CDK substrate and regulates centrosome duplication. CP110 suppresses a cilia assembly program. CCP110 functions in a protein complex that participates in the transition of centrioles from basal body function to centrosomal function. Functional note: Necessary for centrosome duplication at different stages of procentriole formation. Acts as a key negative regulator of ciliogenesis in collaboration with CEP97 by capping the mother centriole thereby preventing cilia formation (PubMed:17719545 PubMed:17681131, PubMed:23486064). Also involved in promoting ciliogenesis. May play a role in the assembly of the mother centriole subdistal appendages (SDA) thereby effecting the fusion of recycling endosomes to basal bodies during cilia formation (By similarity). Required for correct spindle formation and has a role in regulating cytokinesis and genome stability via cooperation with CALM1 and CETN2 (PubMed:16760425). Reported localization: Cytoplasm, cytoskeleton, microtubule organizing center, centrosome, centriole. Expression/tissue context: Highly expressed in testis. Detected at intermediate levels in spleen, thymus, prostate, small intestine, colon and peripheral blood leukocytes.

Research relevance and current trends

  • Cancer: Researchers commonly examine how CCP110 (RNA-binding protein Musashi homolog 1) relates to this theme using model systems and orthogonal readouts.
  • Cell Cycle: Researchers commonly examine how CCP110 (RNA-binding protein Musashi homolog 1) relates to this theme using model systems and orthogonal readouts.
  • Cell Division: Researchers commonly examine how CCP110 (RNA-binding protein Musashi homolog 1) relates to this theme using model systems and orthogonal readouts.

Common research applications

  • Western blotting: compare relative CCP110 (RNA-binding protein Musashi homolog 1) levels across conditions; band patterns may reflect isoforms and processing.
  • IHC/IHC-F: assess spatial distribution of CCP110 (RNA-binding protein Musashi homolog 1) across tissue regions and cell types using matched controls.
  • IF/ICC: evaluate subcellular localization and co-localization patterns; signal can depend on fixation/permeabilization and epitope accessibility.
  • ELISA-compatible use: when applicable, interpret signal as relative abundance across sample sets with consistent handling and dilution strategy.

Notes for experimental interpretation

  • Specificity notes: No cross reactivity with other proteins.
  • Cross-reactivity: No cross-reactivity with other proteins.
  • Isoforms and PTMs: Apparent size and signal patterns can differ across splice isoforms, proteolytic processing, and post-translational modifications.
  • Controls: Include an isotype control (as relevant), no-primary control for imaging, and orthogonal validation such as KD/KO samples when available.

I was wanting to use your anti-CP110/CCP110 antibody for IHC for mouse lymphoblast on frozen tissues, but I want to know if it has been tested for this particular application. Has this antibody been tested and is this antibody a good choice for mouse lymphoblast identification?
It shows on the product datasheet, A05058-1 anti-CP110/CCP110 antibody has been tested for ELISA, IHC, WB on human, mouse, rat tissues. We have an innovator award program that if you test this antibody and show it works in mouse lymphoblast in IHC-frozen, you can get your next antibody for free.
My question regarding product A05058-1, anti-CP110/CCP110 antibody. I was wondering if it would be possible to conjugate this antibody with biotin. I would need it to be without BSA or sodium azide. I am planning on using a buffer exchange of sodium azide with PBS only. Would there be problems for me to conjugate the antibody and store it in -20 degrees in small aliquots?
We do not recommend storing this antibody with PBS buffer only in -20 degrees. If you want to store it in -20 degrees it is best to add some cryoprotectant like glycerol. If you want carrier free A05058-1 anti-CP110/CCP110 antibody, we can provide it to you in a special formula with trehalose and/or glycerol. These molecules will not interfere with conjugation chemistry and provide a good level of protection for the antibody from degradation. Please be sure to specify this in your purchase order.
