- Applications: WB, IHC, Flow Cytometry, ELISA
Vendor description (summary): Boster Bio Anti-CPT2/CPT1 Antibody Picoband® catalog # A02112-1.
Biological background
Biological context: Beta-adrenergic receptors mediate the catecholamine-induced activation of adenylate cyclase through the action of G proteins. Beta-3 is involved in the regulation of lipolysis and thermogenesis.
Expression and localization notes: cellular localization: Mitochondrion inner membrane ; Peripheral membrane protein ; Matrix side, tissue context: Expressed mainly in adipose tissues..
Common research applications
- Western blotting (WB): Compare CPT2 levels across samples and conditions using appropriate loading and biological controls.
- Immunohistochemistry (IHC): Evaluate spatial distribution of CPT2 in tissue sections, considering fixation and antigen retrieval effects.
- Flow cytometry: Quantify CPT2-positive populations in single-cell suspensions with appropriate gating and controls.
- ELISA: Use antibody-based detection formats to assess antigen presence or binding in plate-based assays.
Notes for experimental interpretation
- Account for isoforms, post-translational modifications, and sample-specific processing that can shift apparent molecular weight or epitope accessibility.
- Use positive/negative biological controls where possible (e.g., known-expressing cells/tissues, knockdown/knockout models) and include appropriate secondary-only/isotype controls for imaging workflows.
Additional product notes (from provided fields)
- Specificity: No cross reactivity with other proteins.
- Background: Carnitine O-palmitoyltransferase 2, mitochondrial is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the CPT2 gene. It is mapped to 1p32.3. The protein encoded by this gene is a nuclear protein which is transported to the mitochondrial inner membrane. Together with carnitine palmitoyltransferase I, the encoded protein oxidizes long-chain fatty acids in the mitochondria. Defects in this gene are associated with mitochondrial long-chain fatty-acid (LCFA) oxidation disorders.
- Cross reactivity: No cross-reactivity with other proteins.
- Cellular localization: Mitochondrion inner membrane ; Peripheral membrane protein ; Matrix side
- Tissue details: Expressed mainly in adipose tissues.
- Research category: Cardiovascular,G Protein Signaling,Signal Transduction,Signaling Pathway
