Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes creatine kinase B-type (gene CKB) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for ELISA, IHC and Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 42.6 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 43 kDa.
Creatine kinase B-type (CKB) is the brain-type isoform of creatine kinase, which reversibly transfers phosphate between ATP and creatine. It buffers ATP levels in tissues with high and fluctuating energy demand such as brain, smooth muscle and retina, and it is studied in cellular energy metabolism.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human HeLa cells, human Colo320 cells, human SW620 cells, human SH-SY5Y cells, rat brain tissue, mouse brain tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 10% SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human colon cancer tissue, mouse kidney tissue, rat kidney tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in citrate buffer (pH 6).

Recombinant human CKB fragment (His7–Lys381), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places creatine kinase B-type in the cytoplasm, mitochondrion and cell membrane. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
