Overview

This antibody is intended for detection of CSF1 in biological samples using common immunoassay formats. It is typically selected based on target identity, species reactivity, clonality/clone information, and detection modality.

Vendor notes: Boster Bio Anti-CSF1 Antibody Picoband® catalog # A00620-3. Tested in ELISA, WB applications. This antibody reacts with Human, Mouse. The brand Picoband indicates this is a premium antibody that guarantees superior quality, high affinity, and strong signals with minimal background in Western blot applications. Only our best-performing antibodies are designated as Picoband, ensuring unmatched performance.

Key elements and design rationale

  • Antibody format: Rabbit Polyclonal Rabbit IgG
  • Immunogen / epitope context: E. coli-derived human CSF1 recombinant protein (Position: E33-N190). (reported region: E33-N190).
  • Molecular weight context: reported MW: 60 kDa; calculated MW: nan
  • Reactivity: Human,Mouse
  • Applications: ELISA, WB

As a polyclonal antibody, the reagent recognizes multiple epitopes on the target, which can improve detection robustness but may increase sensitivity to sample-dependent epitope changes.

Biological background

colony stimulating factor 1 (macrophage). M-CSF (or CSF-1) is a hematopoietic growth factor that is involved in the proliferation, differentiation, and survival ofmonocytes, macrophages, and bone marrow progenitor cells. M-CSF affects macrophages and monocytes in several ways, including stimulating increased phagocytic and chemotactic activity, and increased tumour cell cytotoxicity. The role of M-CSF is not only restricted to the monocyte/macrophage cell lineage. By interacting with its membrane receptor (CSF1R or M-CSF-R encoded by the c-fms proto-oncogene), M-CSF also modulates the proliferation of earlier hematopoietic progenitors and influence numerous physiological processes involved in immunology, metabolism, fertility and pregnancy. Functional note: Cytokine that plays an essential role in the regulation of survival, proliferation and differentiation of hematopoietic precursor cells, especially mononuclear phagocytes, such as macrophages and monocytes. Promotes the release of proinflammatory chemokines, and thereby plays an important role in innate immunity and in inflammatory processes. Plays an important role in the regulation of osteoclast proliferation and differentiation, the regulation of bone resorption, and is required for normal bone development. Required for normal male and female fertility. Promotes reorganization of the actin cytoskeleton, regulates formation of membrane ruffles, cell adhesion and cell migration. Plays a role in lipoprotein clearance. Reported localization: Cell membrane.

Research relevance and current trends

  • Atherosclerosis: Researchers commonly examine how CSF1 relates to this theme using model systems and orthogonal readouts.
  • Cardiovascular: Researchers commonly examine how CSF1 relates to this theme using model systems and orthogonal readouts.
  • Cytokines: Researchers commonly examine how CSF1 relates to this theme using model systems and orthogonal readouts.

Common research applications

  • Western blotting: compare relative CSF1 levels across conditions; band patterns may reflect isoforms and processing.
  • ELISA-compatible use: when applicable, interpret signal as relative abundance across sample sets with consistent handling and dilution strategy.

Notes for experimental interpretation

  • Specificity notes: No cross reactivity with other proteins.
  • Cross-reactivity: No cross-reactivity with other proteins.
  • Isoforms and PTMs: Apparent size and signal patterns can differ across splice isoforms, proteolytic processing, and post-translational modifications.
  • Controls: Include an isotype control (as relevant), no-primary control for imaging, and orthogonal validation such as KD/KO samples when available.

I was wanting to use your anti-CSF1 antibody for ELISA for human esophagus on frozen tissues, but I want to know if it has been validated for this particular application. Has this antibody been validated and is this antibody a good choice for human esophagus identification?
As indicated on the product datasheet, A00620-3 anti-CSF1 antibody has been validated for ELISA, WB on human, mouse tissues. We have an innovator award program that if you test this antibody and show it works in human esophagus in IHC-frozen, you can get your next antibody for free.
Is this A00620-3 anti-CSF1 antibody reactive to the isotypes of CSF1?
The immunogen of A00620-3 anti-CSF1 antibody is E. coli-derived human CSF1 recombinant protein (Position: E33-N190). Could you tell me which isotype you are interested in so I can help see if the immunogen is part of this isotype?
