Product Overview
Clone 20C16 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes C-terminal-binding protein 1 (gene CTBP1) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF and immunoprecipitation. The predicted molecular weight is 47.5 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 48 kDa.
CtBP1 is a transcriptional corepressor that binds many DNA-binding repressors, such as BCL6 and GLIS2, through a short PXDLS-type motif and recruits chromatin-modifying enzymes. It has an NAD(H)-dependent dehydrogenase domain that links its activity to cellular metabolic state, and it also affects Golgi membrane organization and brown fat development.

Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human ctBP1.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places C-terminal-binding protein 1 in the cytoplasm and nucleus. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed in germinal center B-cells. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
