Product Overview
Clone 26C66 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes C-terminal-binding protein 2 (gene CTBP2) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC and ICC/IF. The predicted molecular weight is 48.9 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 49 kDa.
CtBP2 is a transcriptional corepressor closely related to CtBP1 that binds diverse DNA-binding repressors and helps silence their target genes. An alternative isoform, RIBEYE, is a main structural protein of ribbon synapses in retinal photoreceptors and inner-ear hair cells, so CTBP2 antibodies are widely used as ribbon synapse markers.

Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of CTBP2.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places C-terminal-binding protein 2 in the nucleus and synapse. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Ubiquitous. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
