Product Overview
Clone ADCD-3 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes cytotoxic T-lymphocyte protein 4 (gene CTLA4) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot and ICC/IF. The predicted molecular weight is 24.7 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 43 kDa.
CTLA-4 (CD152) is an inhibitory receptor on activated T cells and regulatory T cells that dampens T-cell responses. It binds the B7 ligands CD80 and CD86 with much higher affinity than the costimulatory receptor CD28, competing with CD28 for these ligands and limiting activation. CTLA-4 is a key immune checkpoint studied in autoimmunity, tolerance and cancer immunotherapy.
