Product Overview
Clone 26C28 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes catenin alpha-3 (gene CTNNA3) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC and immunoprecipitation. The predicted molecular weight is 99.8 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 100 kDa.
Alpha-T-catenin (CTNNA3) is an alpha-catenin family member expressed mainly in heart and testis. At the intercalated discs of cardiomyocytes it joins cadherin-catenin complexes to the cytoskeleton and is thought to help form stretch-resistant adhesion junctions, so it is studied in cardiac adhesion and cardiomyopathy research.

Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human CTNNA3.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places catenin alpha-3 in the cytoplasm and cell junction. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Predominantly expressed in heart and testis. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
