Product Overview
Clone GA-3 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes cubilin (gene CUBN) in human samples and is validated for Western blot and IHC. The predicted molecular weight is 398.7 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 399 kDa.
Cubilin (CUBN) is a large endocytic receptor in the kidney proximal tubule and small intestine that has no transmembrane domain of its own. With amnionless it takes up vitamin B12 bound to intrinsic factor in the gut, and with megalin (LRP2) it reclaims albumin and other filtered proteins in the kidney. It is studied in vitamin B12 absorption and renal protein handling.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 1:500–1:2000 |
|---|---|
| Immunohistochemistry | 1:50–1:200 |
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human fetal kidney.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human kidney tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human cubilin.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places cubilin in the apical cell membrane, cell membrane, membrane and endosome. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Detected in kidney cortex (at protein level). The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
