Product Overview
Clone HOC-3 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes cyclin-A2 (gene CCNA2) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC and ICC/IF. The predicted molecular weight is 48.6 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 55 kDa.
Cyclin A2 (CCNA2) is an essential cell cycle regulator that activates CDK2 during S phase and CDK1 at the G2/M transition. It helps drive DNA replication and entry into mitosis, and because its levels track cell proliferation, it is a common proliferation marker in cell cycle and cancer research.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human Jurkat cells, human HeLa cells, human K562 cells, human MCF-7 cells, rat PC-12 cells, rat NRK cells, mouse RAW264.7 cells, mouse ANA-1 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 1:500 overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:1000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human colorectal adenocarcinoma tissue, human liver cancer tissue, human lung cancer tissue, human spleen tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human cyclin A2.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places cyclin-A2 in the nucleus and cytoplasm. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
