Product Overview
Clone EOG-3 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes G2/mitotic-specific cyclin-B1 (gene CCNB1) in human and mouse samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 48.3 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 55 kDa.
Cyclin B1 (CCNB1) binds and activates CDK1 to form maturation-promoting factor, the kinase that triggers entry into mitosis. Its levels rise through G2 and it is destroyed at the metaphase-to-anaphase transition, so it is a standard marker of G2/M cells in cell cycle and cancer studies.

Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human colon tissue, human lung large cells cancer tissue, rat stomach tissue, mouse lung tissue, human esophageal carcinoma tissue, human colon cancer tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human cyclin B1.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human and mouse. UniProt places G2/mitotic-specific cyclin-B1 in the cytoplasm and nucleus. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
