Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes cyclin-dependent kinase 2 (gene CDK2) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 33.9 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 30 kDa.
CDK2 is a cyclin-dependent kinase that pairs with cyclin E and cyclin A to drive the G1-to-S transition and DNA replication. It phosphorylates targets such as RB1 and helps trigger centrosome duplication; although somatic cells can often compensate for its loss, it is essential for meiosis and is widely studied in cell cycle research.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL (Human, Mouse, Rat) |
|---|
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human Jurkat cells lysate, human HepG2 cells lysate, human U2OS cells lysate, human K562 cells lysate, human T47D cells lysate, human Caco-2 cells lysate, human 293T cells lysate, human PC-3 cells lysate, rat L6 cells, mouse NIH/3T3 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide from the C-terminal region of human cdk2. The peptide sequence is conserved in rat and mouse.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places cyclin-dependent kinase 2 in the nucleus, cytoplasm and endosome. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
