Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects cyclin-dependent kinase 7 (gene CDK7) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 39.0 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 100 kDa.
CDK7 is the kinase at the core of the CDK-activating kinase (CAK), which it forms with cyclin H and MAT1. It activates other CDKs such as CDK1 and CDK2 by phosphorylating their T-loop, and as part of the general transcription factor TFIIH it phosphorylates RNA polymerase II, linking cell cycle control to transcription.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL (Human, Rat, Mouse) |
|---|
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): rat testis tissue, rat ovary tissue, HeLa cells, MCF-7 cells, A549 cells, COLO320 cells, Jurkat cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide from the C-terminal region of human cdk7. It differs from the rat and mouse sequences at two residues.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places cyclin-dependent kinase 7 in the nucleus and cytoplasm. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Ubiquitous. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
