Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects cytochrome P450 11B1, mitochondrial (gene CYP11B1) in human samples and is validated for Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 57.6 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 58 kDa.
CYP11B1 (steroid 11β-hydroxylase) is a mitochondrial cytochrome P450 in the adrenal cortex that carries out the final step of cortisol synthesis, converting 11-deoxycortisol to cortisol. It also converts 11-deoxycorticosterone to corticosterone. Its deficiency causes a form of congenital adrenal hyperplasia, and it is studied in adrenal steroidogenesis and cortisol disorders.

The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places cytochrome P450 11B1, mitochondrial in the mitochondrion inner membrane.
