Product Overview
Clone 19C01 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes cytochrome P450 1B1 (gene CYP1B1) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 60.8 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 70 kDa.
CYP1B1 is a cytochrome P450 enzyme expressed in many extrahepatic tissues and induced through the aryl hydrocarbon receptor. It hydroxylates estrogens, especially at the 4-position, and activates some procarcinogens, and it also acts on retinoids and fatty acids. Mutations cause primary congenital glaucoma, and it is studied in eye development, hormone metabolism and cancer.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): rat heart tissue, rat kidney tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 10% SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 1: 500 overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human colon cancer tissue, rat heart tissue, human renal cancer tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human CYP1B1.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places cytochrome P450 1B1 in the endoplasmic reticulum membrane, microsome membrane and mitochondrion. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed in heart, brain, lung, skeletal muscle, kidney, spleen, thymus, prostate, testis, ovary, small intestine, colon, and peripheral blood leukocytes. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
