Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets cytochrome P450 7B1 (gene CYP7B1) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, flow cytometry and ELISA.
Oxysterol 7α-hydroxylase (CYP7B1) is a cytochrome P450 that hydroxylates oxysterols such as 25- and 27-hydroxycholesterol, feeding the alternative pathway of bile acid synthesis. It also metabolizes neurosteroids such as DHEA. Mutations cause hereditary spastic paraplegia type 5, and it is studied in cholesterol metabolism, bile acid synthesis and neurology.
