Product Overview
Clone CDI-11 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes keratin, type I cytoskeletal 20 (gene KRT20) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF, immunoprecipitation and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 48.5 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 48 kDa.
Keratin 20 (KRT20) is a type I intermediate filament protein found in the gastrointestinal epithelium, urothelium and Merkel cells. It is concentrated in mature cells at the surface of the intestinal lining and contributes to their filament organization. KRT20 is widely used in pathology, often together with keratin 7, to help identify the origin of carcinomas.

Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 1:1000 overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:500, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human colon tissue, human colon cancer tissue, human appendix tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).

Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places keratin, type I cytoskeletal 20 in the cytoplasm. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed predominantly in the intestinal epithelium. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
