Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets Z-DNA-binding protein 1 (gene Zbp1) in mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, ICC/IF and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 44.3 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 63 kDa.
ZBP1 (Z-DNA-binding protein 1, also called DAI) is an interferon-induced innate immune sensor that recognizes nucleic acids in the left-handed Z conformation, such as Z-RNA produced during some viral infections. Through its RHIM domain it engages RIPK3 and RIPK1 to trigger necroptosis and other forms of inflammatory cell death, making it a subject of research in antiviral defense and inflammation.

Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): RM-1 cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant mouse DAI/Zbp1 fragment (Ala2–Asp382), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with mouse and rat. UniProt places Z-DNA-binding protein 1 in the cytoplasm and nucleus. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (mouse): Expressed in lung, spleen and liver. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
