Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes mRNA-decapping enzyme 1A (gene DCP1A) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, ICC/IF, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 63.3 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 75 kDa.
DCP1A is a cofactor that stimulates the decapping enzyme DCP2, which strips the 7-methylguanosine cap from mRNAs and commits them to 5′-to-3′ decay. It is a core component of cytoplasmic P-bodies and takes part in both normal mRNA turnover and nonsense-mediated decay. DCP1A is widely used as a P-body marker in studies of RNA decay and stress granules.

Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): Caco-2 cells.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): Daudi cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human DCP1A fragment (Gln32–Lys577), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places mRNA-decapping enzyme 1A in the cytoplasm and nucleus. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Detected in heart, brain, placenta, lung, skeletal muscle, liver, kidney and pancreas. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
