Product Overview
Clone 24D73 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes dynactin subunit 3 (gene DCTN3) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC and ICC/IF. The predicted molecular weight is 21.1 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 21 kDa.
DCTN3 (p24) is a small subunit of dynactin, the multi-protein complex that activates cytoplasmic dynein for processive transport along microtubules. As part of the dynactin shoulder region, it contributes to dynein-driven cargo movement and has been linked to mitotic spindle assembly and cytokinesis. It is studied in intracellular transport and cell division.

Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human DCTN3.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places dynactin subunit 3 in the cytoplasm, chromosome, cleavage furrow and midbody. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Ubiquitously expressed. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
