Product Overview
Clone AEAG-4 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes N(G),N(G)-dimethylarginine dimethylaminohydrolase 1 (gene DDAH1) in human, monkey, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF, immunoprecipitation and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 31.1 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 37 kDa.
DDAH1 (dimethylarginine dimethylaminohydrolase 1) breaks down asymmetric dimethylarginine (ADMA) and monomethylarginine, endogenous inhibitors of nitric oxide synthase. By clearing these inhibitors, it supports nitric oxide production. DDAH1 is studied in vascular biology, endothelial function and cardiovascular research.

Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 1:1000 overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human DDAH1 Hydrolyzes N (G),N (G) -dimethyl-L-arginine (ADMA) and N (G) -monomethyl-L-arginine (MMA) which act as inhibitors of NOS. Has therefore a role in the regulation of nitric oxide generation.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, monkey, mouse and rat. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Detected in brain, liver, kidney and pancreas, and at low levels in skeletal muscle. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
