Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects DNA damage-inducible transcript 3 protein (gene DDIT3) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 19.2 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 29 kDa.
DDIT3 (CHOP, also called GADD153) is a transcription factor of the C/EBP family that is strongly induced by endoplasmic reticulum stress through the unfolded protein response. It can inhibit other C/EBP proteins while activating stress-response genes, and prolonged induction promotes cell cycle arrest and apoptosis. CHOP is a widely used marker of ER stress.

Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human B lymphocytic tumor tissue, human renal cancer tissue, human lung cancer tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): K562 cells, THP-1 cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human DDIT3 fragment (Met1–Ala169), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places DNA damage-inducible transcript 3 protein in the cytoplasm and nucleus. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
