Product Overview
Clone GI-3 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes catenin delta-1 (gene CTNND1) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF and immunoprecipitation. The predicted molecular weight is 108.2 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 105 kDa.
p120-catenin (CTNND1) binds the juxtamembrane region of classical cadherins such as E- and N-cadherin and prevents their endocytosis, keeping adherens junctions stable. It also regulates Rho family GTPases and the transcription factor Kaiso, and it is a substrate of SRC and several receptor tyrosine kinases. It is studied in epithelial adhesion, cell migration and cancer.

Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human delta 1 Catenin/p120 Catenin.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places catenin delta-1 in the cell junction, cytoplasm, nucleus and cell membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed in vascular endothelium. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
