Product Overview
Clone ACBE-4 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes dihydrofolate reductase (gene DHFR) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC and ICC/IF. The predicted molecular weight is 21.5 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 21 kDa.
Dihydrofolate reductase (DHFR) uses NADPH to reduce dihydrofolate to tetrahydrofolate, regenerating the folate cofactors needed to make thymidylate, purines and glycine. This makes it essential for DNA synthesis and cell proliferation. DHFR is the target of methotrexate and is studied in folate metabolism and antifolate drug research.

Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human DHFR Key enzyme in folate metabolism.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places dihydrofolate reductase in the mitochondrion, cytoplasm and nucleus. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Widely expressed in fetal and adult tissues, including throughout the fetal and adult brains and whole blood.
