Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects DNA polymerase beta (gene POLB) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 38.2 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 38 kDa.
DNA polymerase β (POLB) is the main gap-filling polymerase in base excision repair. After a damaged base is removed and the backbone is cut, it removes the leftover 5′-deoxyribose phosphate and inserts a single nucleotide so the strand can be sealed. POLB is widely studied in DNA damage responses and genome stability.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human K562 cells, human HeLa cells, human Jurkat cells, rat brain tissue, rat spleen tissue, mouse brain tissue, mouse spleen tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 10% SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Immunogen
Recombinant human POLB fragment (Leu122–Glu335), expressed in E. coli. Sequence identity with the mouse and rat orthologs: 95.3% and 94.9%, respectively.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places DNA polymerase beta in the nucleus and cytoplasm. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
