Product Overview

Clone 24D64 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes dnaJ homolog subfamily A member 1 (gene DNAJA1) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, immunoprecipitation and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 44.9 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 45 kDa.

DNAJA1 (HDJ2) is a type I J-domain protein that works as a co-chaperone of HSP70 family proteins such as HSC70. It stimulates their ATPase activity and delivers client proteins to them for folding, and it also supports protein import into mitochondria. DNAJA1 is studied in protein quality control, apoptosis and cancer.

Reactivity Notes

The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places dnaJ homolog subfamily A member 1 in the membrane, cytoplasm, microsome and nucleus. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Ubiquitous. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.

Safety

Handling: the formulation contains sodium azide as a preservative. Wear gloves, avoid contact with skin and eyes, and dispose of waste according to local regulations. For research use only; not for diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
Q.Which applications is this antibody validated for, and at what dilution?
A.Validated applications with suggested starting dilutions: Western blot 1:1000–1:5000; Flow cytometry 1:50; Immunoprecipitation 1:50. Optimal dilutions should be determined by each laboratory.
Q.Which species does this antibody react with?
A.Validated reactivity: Human, Mouse, Rat. Other species are not listed by the supplier.
Q.What band size should be expected in Western blot?
A.Reported by the supplier: calculated molecular weight 44.9 kDa; observed band at about 45 kDa.
Q.What immunogen was used to raise this antibody?
A.Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human DNAJA1.
Q.How should this antibody be stored?
A.Long term: −20 °C for up to 12 months. Frequent use: 4 °C for up to 1 month. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles.
