Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes aromatic-L-amino-acid decarboxylase (gene DDC) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, flow cytometry and immunoprecipitation.
Aromatic L-amino acid decarboxylase (AADC, encoded by DDC) converts L-DOPA to dopamine and 5-hydroxytryptophan to serotonin. It therefore performs a key step in catecholamine and serotonin synthesis in neurons and peripheral tissues. DDC is studied in neurotransmitter metabolism, Parkinson's disease research and AADC deficiency.
