Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes dynamin-1-like protein (gene DNM1L) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 81.9 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 70–75 kDa.
DRP1 (dynamin-related protein 1, encoded by DNM1L) is a large GTPase that divides mitochondria and peroxisomes. It is recruited from the cytosol by outer membrane adaptors, assembles into rings around the organelle and constricts it using GTP hydrolysis. DRP1 is studied in mitochondrial dynamics, apoptosis, mitophagy and neurodegenerative and cardiac disease.

Immunogen
Recombinant human DRP1/DNM1L fragment (Gln618–Trp736), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places dynamin-1-like protein in the cytoplasm, Golgi apparatus, endomembrane system and mitochondrion outer membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Ubiquitously expressed with highest levels found in skeletal muscles, heart, kidney and brain. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
