Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets transcription factor E2F4 in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for IHC and Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 44.0 kDa; the supplier reports observed bands at 44 kDa, 60 kDa.
E2F4 is a mainly repressive member of the E2F family. Bound to DP proteins and the pocket proteins p107 and p130, it silences cell cycle genes in resting and differentiated cells, and it is studied in quiescence, differentiation and cell cycle control.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): HeLa cells, U2OS cells, MCF-7 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): mouse intestine tissue, rat intestine tissue, human intetsinal cancer tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).

Synthetic peptide from the N-terminal region of human E2F4. The peptide sequence is conserved in mouse and rat.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places transcription factor E2F4 in the nucleus. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Found in all tissue examined including heart, brain, placenta, lung, liver, skeletal muscle, kidney and pancreas. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
