Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects enoyl-CoA hydratase, mitochondrial (gene ECHS1) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 31.4 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 29 kDa.
ECHS1 is the short-chain enoyl-CoA hydratase of mitochondria, catalyzing the second step of fatty acid β-oxidation by adding water across the double bond of trans-2-enoyl-CoA. It also acts in valine breakdown, and its deficiency causes a severe inherited mitochondrial disorder.

Immunogen
Recombinant human ECHS1 fragment (Arg12–Gln290), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places enoyl-CoA hydratase, mitochondrial in the mitochondrion matrix. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Liver, fibroblast, muscle. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
