Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes polycomb protein EED in human and rat samples and is validated for Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 50.2 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 72 kDa.
EED is a core WD40 subunit of Polycomb repressive complex 2 (PRC2). It binds trimethylated H3K27 and stimulates the methyltransferase EZH2, helping spread this repressive mark to silence developmental genes, and it is studied in development, stem cells and cancer.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): rat cardiac muscle tissue, rat kidney tissue, rat liver tissue, rat lung tissue, SKOV cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Immunogen
Recombinant human EED fragment (Met256–Arg441), expressed in E. coli. Sequence identity with the mouse ortholog: 100%.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human and rat. UniProt places polycomb protein EED in the nucleus and chromosome. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed in brain, colon, heart, kidney, liver, lung, muscle, ovary, peripheral blood leukocytes, pancreas, placenta, prostate, spleen, small intestine, testis, thymus and uterus. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
