Rabbit Monoclonal

Product Overview

Clone 29E78 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes eukaryotic translation initiation factor 1A, X-chromosomal (gene EIF1AX) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF, flow cytometry and immunoprecipitation. The predicted molecular weight is 16.5 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 18 kDa.

eIF1A (EIF1AX) is a translation initiation factor that binds the small ribosomal subunit. With eIF1, it supports mRNA scanning and start codon recognition and helps join the large subunit, and EIF1AX mutations are found in uveal melanoma and thyroid cancers.

Target Eukaryotic translation initiation factor 1A, X-chromosomal (gene EIF1AX; UniProt P47813, human)

Reactivity Notes

The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places eukaryotic translation initiation factor 1A, X-chromosomal in the cytoplasm. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.

Safety

Handling: the formulation contains sodium azide as a preservative. Wear gloves, avoid contact with skin and eyes, and dispose of waste according to local regulations. For research use only; not for diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
