Product Overview
Clone 30E32 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes ER membrane protein complex subunit 4 (gene EMC4) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC and immunoprecipitation. The predicted molecular weight is 20.1 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 18 kDa.
EMC4 is a membrane subunit of the ER membrane protein complex (EMC), which inserts newly synthesized transmembrane domains into the endoplasmic reticulum membrane without ATP. The EMC handles tail-anchored proteins and helps set the orientation of multi-pass proteins such as G protein-coupled receptors, making its subunits relevant to membrane protein biogenesis research.

Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places ER membrane protein complex subunit 4 in the endoplasmic reticulum membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Isoform 1 is expressed in brain and heart. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
