Product Overview
Clone ACGA-5 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes emerin (gene EMD) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC and ICC/IF. The predicted molecular weight is 29.0 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 29 kDa.
Emerin (EMD) is an inner nuclear membrane protein of the LEM-domain family that binds lamins, BAF and nuclear actin. It helps organize the nuclear envelope, links centrosomes to the nucleus and restrains nuclear β-catenin signaling. Loss of emerin causes X-linked Emery-Dreifuss muscular dystrophy, so it is widely studied in nuclear mechanics and laminopathies.

Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human emerin.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places emerin in the nucleus inner membrane, nucleoplasmic side and nucleus outer membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Skeletal muscle, heart, colon, testis, ovary and pancreas. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
