Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes epoxide hydrolase 1 (gene EPHX1) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 52.9 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 53 kDa.
Microsomal epoxide hydrolase (EPHX1) is an endoplasmic reticulum enzyme that adds water to reactive epoxides, converting them into less reactive, more water-soluble diols. It plays a key role in detoxifying drug and environmental metabolites, such as those formed from polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, and also acts on some endogenous lipid epoxides.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.25–0.5 µg/mL (Human, Mouse, Rat) |
|---|---|
| Flow cytometry (fixed cells) | 1–3 µg/1×106 cells (Human) |
| ELISA | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL |
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human HepG2 cells, human hcct tissue, human hccp tissue, rat liver tissue, rat RH35 cells, mouse liver tissue, mouse HEPA1–6 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): RT4 cells, A549 cells, SiHa cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human Epoxide hydrolase/EPHX1 fragment (Ala42–Gln455), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places epoxide hydrolase 1 in the microsome membrane and endoplasmic reticulum membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Found in liver. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
